We built smarter.sh for one particular application, and others quickly followed

Back in October 2023, we wanted to improve our patented StepWise Virtual Tutor. StepWise helps students master critical math skills by guiding students step-by-step to solve math problems in pre-algebra up through Calculus.  However, StepWise could not do an interactive chat with students.  We experimented with creating an AI chatbot that could answer general questions from students, like “I don’t understand the Quadratic Formula.  Can you explain it to me?”.  We also wanted this new chatbot to be able to be trained with a lot of different kinds of facts in a variety of different data sources.  We settled on the industry-standard YAML format for the facts that we could teach our chatbot.  Many types of data formats can be translated back-and-forth with the YAML format. By late November, 2023, we had a basic chatbot operational.  We could present it with facts in YAML, and it would quickly and easily answer questions about those facts via a chat user interface. We picked the codename “smarter” for this project, since it would make StepWise “smarter”.

Almost as soon as we created this prototype, we started imagining other users for ‘smarter’.  Throughout the history of Querium, we’ve helped other companies in education and corporate training in creating AI-based solutions.  We quickly realized that ‘smarter’ was a good solution to a wide-range of business problems in sales, in customer service, and in operations.  From our work in selling math solutions and assessment solutions to universities, we saw that our university customers had important issues outside of the academic departments.

Over the past 90 days, we’ve enhanced ‘smarter’ to allow it to support multiple customers.  We keep their proprietary data secure from one-another and from the outside world.  We’ve leveraged out 10+ years of experience in building cloud-hosted software platforms that can support tens of thousands of users.  Our largest product to date has supported almost 700,000 users.  We use that experience in the management of the ‘smarter’ platform.

We hope that you’ll let us know what business challenges you fact, and speak with use about how we can employ the AI and Machine Learning technology in ‘smarter by Querium’ to improve the satisfaction of your customers, and improve the bottom line of your organization.
